1. Who sends the messages
All the WhatsApp and SMS messages described on this page are sent by BukSalon. BukSalon is owned and run by Neeraj Kumar as a sole proprietor in India. Our address is Jhumri Telaiya, Koderma, Jharkhand 825409, India.
- WhatsApp: from BukSalon's official WhatsApp Business account, using Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform.
- SMS: through an SMS service provider we use. SMS is only a backup, for example when your number is not on WhatsApp or you turned WhatsApp updates off.
Messages about a token or booking include the salon's name so you know which visit they are about. They are still sent by BukSalon, not by the salon.
2. Messages we send
We send only messages you can expect: ones you asked for, or ones about a token or booking you made.
Login codes
- A 6-digit code when you log in or sign up with your mobile number, or confirm your number on a salon's QR page. It works for 5 minutes and only once.
- If you choose Free: message us on WhatsApp, you send us "Hi BukSalon, send my login code" and we reply with your code.
Token and booking updates
- Token confirmed: your token, the salon and a link to track your turn live. Sent only to a number confirmed with a code or a WhatsApp message.
- Your turn is near: once, when your wait is about 10 minutes or less, or you are next. If you booked online and have not checked in yet, it asks you to reach the salon and scan its QR.
- It's your turn: when the salon calls your token.
- Token on hold and Token expired: when you were not at the salon when your turn came, how long the salon will hold your token, and if it expires.
- Cancelled: when the salon cancels your token or marks it as missed, with the reason.
- Appointment reminder: shortly before a time you booked.
- Thank you: after your visit, with the amount paid and a link to rate your visit.
We also limit how many updates one number can get in a day.
Home visit updates
When you ask a salon for a home visit, its updates (confirmed, declined, on the way, done, missed or cancelled) are shown as notifications inside BukSalon (the app and the website) and in Bookings. We don't send them by WhatsApp or SMS.
Replies to your messages
Short automatic replies when you message our WhatsApp number (see section 7).
Support
If you contact us, or there is a problem with your account, salon or booking, a person from the BukSalon team may message or call you about it.
3. Messages we don't send
- No ads or promotions from BukSalon on WhatsApp or SMS. If we ever want to send offers, we will first ask for your separate permission, and you can say no.
- Nothing for other companies. We don't send messages on behalf of third parties, and we don't sell, rent or share your number for their marketing.
- No messages you didn't ask for. We don't buy or use contact lists. If a salon adds you to its queue by hand (a walk-in), BukSalon does not message you unless you ask for updates yourself.
- No salon-written text. Salons can't write or change our messages (see section 8).
4. How you agree to get messages (opt-in)
You get messages from us only after you give us your number and ask for something:
- Logging in: you type your number and tap Get code on WhatsApp (or ask for the code by SMS). That asks us to send you a code.
- Taking a token: on a salon's QR page you give your mobile number, because every booking needs one. Sometimes you also confirm it with a code, for example to book a later time or when the salon asks for it. Giving your number asks us to send updates about that token or booking.
- Booking from your account: updates about that booking go to your account's number.
- Get updates on WhatsApp: this button on your token page opens WhatsApp with a ready message. When you send it, updates for that token come to that WhatsApp number.
- Choosing WhatsApp or SMS: in Profile → Notifications, the Updates on WhatsApp switch decides whether your token updates come on WhatsApp.
Please give only your own mobile number. Your permission covers only the messages listed in section 2.
5. How to stop or change messages (opt-out)
- Turn WhatsApp off: in Profile → Notifications, turn off Updates on WhatsApp. WhatsApp token updates stop. Only the most important alerts, such as "your turn is near" and "it's your turn", may still come by SMS so you don't miss your turn.
- Reply STOP on WhatsApp: send STOP (or "unsubscribe" or "band karo") to BukSalon's WhatsApp number. We mark your number as opted out and send one message to confirm. After that, the only WhatsApp messages we send to your number are login codes you ask for yourself. Booking alerts come by SMS instead, or not at all. Send START to turn WhatsApp alerts back on.
- Cancel the token: its updates stop. Updates also end on their own: once your visit is over, we send nothing more about it. There is no ongoing mailing list.
- Updates going to the wrong WhatsApp? Tap Use my WhatsApp instead on your token page. Updates to the other number stop.
- Delete your account: Profile → Delete my account. Your open tokens and bookings are cancelled, so their updates stop.
- Block us in WhatsApp: you can block or report our number in WhatsApp at any time.
- Ask us: email contact@buksalon.in or call +91 99393 68248 with your mobile number and tell us which messages you don't want. We will help you stop them.
Login codes are sent only when someone asks for a code for that number. If you get a code you didn't ask for, don't share it with anyone.
6. Stay safe: fake messages and scams
- We never ask for your login code, UPI PIN, card number, CVV, bank details or passwords, by message, by phone or in any other way. Never share your code with anyone, even if they say they are from BukSalon or a salon.
- Our automatic messages never ask you to pay money.
- Links in our messages open the BukSalon website (https://buksalon.in). Be careful with links that go anywhere else.
- Got a message that claims to be from BukSalon but looks fake, asks for a code or money, or has a strange link? Don't reply and don't tap the link. Report it to contact@buksalon.in with a screenshot. You can also report it in WhatsApp.
- Got a BukSalon message you didn't ask for? Someone may have typed your number by mistake. Tell us at contact@buksalon.in and we will look into it.
7. Messages you send us on WhatsApp
Our WhatsApp number replies automatically. It is not a live chat, so for help from a person please email contact@buksalon.in or call +91 99393 68248.
- We read messages only from Indian mobile numbers (+91). Messages from other numbers are ignored and get no reply.
- Your token's code (the ready message from Get updates on WhatsApp): we send that token's updates to your WhatsApp number and reply to confirm. The first number to send a token's code keeps it. Another number that sends the same code gets no token details.
- The code of a token that has ended: we reply that it is no longer active and ask you to scan the salon's QR for a new token.
- Asking for a login code (a message with "login", "code" or "OTP"): if you started a login with Free: message us on WhatsApp, we reply with your code. If not, we tell you how to start.
- STOP (also "stop", "unsubscribe" or "band karo"): we stop WhatsApp alerts to your number and reply once to confirm (see section 5). START turns them back on.
- Anything else: a short help message, at most once a day.
- To stop misuse, we limit replies per hour, and a number that sends too many wrong token codes has its codes ignored for up to a day.
- We read only the text. Please don't send photos, documents, payment details or other private information. We store your number, the time and the first 300 characters of each message, to run the service and stop misuse.
8. Salons and messages
- Salons don't send messages through BukSalon's WhatsApp number or SMS. BukSalon writes and sends the automatic updates. A salon can't add its own text; only its name and your token details are filled in.
- Automatic updates for a salon's customers start only after BukSalon has verified that salon, and we can switch them off for any salon.
- In the BukSalon salon app, a salon can tap to open WhatsApp on its own phone with a ready message to you, for example to say it's your turn, to thank you, or to remind you of an amount you owe. These messages come from the salon's own WhatsApp number. The salon sends them and is responsible for them.
- Salons must follow our Salon partner terms, WhatsApp's rules and Indian law. They must message only their own customers, only about their visits or with their permission, and must not spam.
- If a salon sends you messages you don't want, block its number in WhatsApp and tell us. We may act under the Salon partner terms.
9. WhatsApp is provided by Meta
WhatsApp is a service of Meta (WhatsApp LLC), not of BukSalon. Our WhatsApp messages are delivered through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. When you use WhatsApp, WhatsApp's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy also apply. We follow the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy. SMS is carried by our SMS provider and your mobile operator.
10. Costs
BukSalon does not charge you for any message. WhatsApp uses your internet data, and your mobile operator's normal charges for data or SMS may apply under your plan.
11. Your data
- We use your number only to send you the messages above and to keep BukSalon safe. We never sell it or use it for ads.
- We keep a record of each message we send (with login codes hidden) and whether it was delivered, for up to 180 days. Login codes are stored only as a scrambled (hashed) copy and are deleted after about 2 days.
- We remember whether your number is on WhatsApp, when you last messaged us and whether you sent STOP, so we can pick the right channel and respect your choice.
- Meta and our SMS provider receive your number and the message so they can deliver it.
Full details are in our Privacy policy.
12. Questions and complaints
For any question about our messages, email contact@buksalon.in or call +91 99393 68248. You can also use our Contact us page. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to our Grievance Officer, Neeraj Kumar, as explained on our Grievance redressal page.
